A passion for colour, texture, line and pure white space, coupled with my pursuit of structure and clarity lends a strong design sense and balance to my work. I am fascinated by contrast and creating depth through layering -achieving graphic effect by, often painstaking, self-correcting refinement. I create intricate yet bold explorations of pattern, shape, monochrome, line weights and form. My art works tend to take on their own life once given initial direction. What begins as a pencil sketch rapidly comes to life through colour and masking - hence the work appears organic, spontaneous and dynamic.
